Registration: How It Works
You may register in our office, Monday through Friday, from 10 am - 4
pm, using a check, cash, or MC/Visa or AMEX.
Phone registration is
available using MC/Visa or AMEX.
All class fees must be paid at the
time of registration; class space cannot be held until full payment
is received. Except for a $25 application fee, class fees are refundable
if our Education Coordinator is notified of cancellation a minimum
of three weeks prior to the scheduled start of the class. No refunds
will be made after that date because of contractual obligations and
the cost of purchasing supplies. No refunds will be given if a student
withdraws after a class begins. Class fees are non-transferable.

PHOTOGRAPHY
BLACK AND WHITE FILM PHOTOGRAPHY T
Intermediate
This class is for students who have a basic knowledge of the camera and
the darkroom, and who have experience developing black and white film
on their own. Students need a 35mm camera with a manual setting. Class
fees include darkroom chemicals and scheduled use of darkroom facilities.

DRAWING BASIC DRAWING: THE
FUNDAMENTALS T
This course will provide a foundation for the beginner
as well as provide opportunities for those seeking to build a drawing
portfolio. We will be using a variety of subject matter
including still life and the human form, employing techniques proven
to enhance your observational skills. Areas covered: contour, tonality

PASTELS T
Beginner
This class is intended to introduce students to the full potential of
soft pastel as a medium, and to increase the students' comfort with
using pastels as part of their creative endeavors. Students will learn
techniques through discussion and experimentation with different surfaces.
This class will also look at artists whose work in pastels and other
mediums demonstrates
technique, composition and concepts that would be relevant to the class
exercises. Some class time will be spent working outside in locations
near the Paul Robeson Center studios. On other occasions, a still life

PAINTING LANDSCAPE PAINTING IN PRINCETON* T
Capture the summer morning light at picturesque sites in Princeton and
surrounding areas. Draw inspiration from beautiful and historic locales

OIL PAINTING TECHNIQUES

This class covers the basics and more advanced oil painting techniques,
brush handling, and how to start a painting. Students will work on drawing,
value, shape, color and design and slowly go from simple to more difficult
projects. In the past, students have worked on portraits, landscapes,

DIGITAL ART
DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY T
Digital photography will be approached from a creative perspective by
exploring the subject matter through the principles of "in-camera" composition,
color, form, and lighting. Students will learn the basics of using
a digital camera as well as learn beginning and more advanced ink jet
printing techniques. Each project will focus on a technical aspect
of taking digital photographic images and printing them, while still
challenging the photographer's creativity. Group critiques will help
the students to evaluate the results of their own work and the work
of their classmates.
Students will need to bring their own digital cameras (a tripod is optional).

the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts on 102 Witherspoon Street across
from the Princeton Public Library. Summer Arts and Drama Camp takes
place at the Princeton Junior School and the Robeson Center.

PARKING IS NOW SO EASY!
Students currently
enrolled in any Arts Council class can receive substantially
discounted parking rates at the Palmer Square Garage
on Hulfish Street. All you have to do is purchase your
pass at the Arts Council in advance for each semester your class
is in session. For a flat fee of $20, your pass
will allow you to park for up to 10 sessions during the semester.
