PRINTMAKING

PRINTMAKING WITHOUT A PRESS T
This hands-on workshop will be an exploration of three printmaking techniques that can be created without a printing press. The first technique is called a monoprint, in which each print is a one-of-a-kind image. The workshop will move on to create multi-layered, multi-color prints using a monoprint background with a paper masking technique. The third technique involves an overlay print employing a paper stencil technique. Visual print references and technical demonstrations will accompany the print project process. Each student will learn to create exciting prints through simple means!

THE MEAL AS AN ARTISTIC EXPERIENCE*
If you are a "foodie," this is the workshop for you. We will share insights into the dining experience that reveal the artistry at its core. The chef is the artist, you are the audience, and the meal is both a performance and a work of art that nourishes the body, fosters joy and happiness, brings various cultures and geographies to life and conveys the chef's artistic identity. After taking this workshop you will look at dining out in a whole new light.

ART SAMPLER

DEPARTURES: ART + NATURE
Beginner to Advanced
Join us Saturday, May 22nd, as DepARTures seeks the idyllic spot where Art and Nature meet. We'll start with the exhibition, Propagating Eden: Uses and Techniques of Nature Printing, at beautiful Wave Hill in the Bronx. Then the group will tour The Highline, acclaimed urban gem brought to life on an abandoned railroad track, and visit with Princeton artist Susan Hockaday on the occasion of her solo Chelsea exhibition, Plastic, Nature, to see her latest series of innovative photograms. We'll stop for a tasty bistro lunch (affordable and fantastic) which is not included in the price of the tour. Limited to 10 participants—only 4 left!
