Pinot to Picasso -Vintage 2010, the Arts Council of Princeton’s fifth annual art and wine tasting fundraiser, will be held this year on Friday, April 23rd from 6:30-9:30 pm at the Technology Center of Princeton, 330 Carter Road, Princeton, New Jersey. This gala kick-off to the Princeton Arts Weekend and Communiversity Festival of the Arts has been described as the liveliest and hippest art-related event in Princeton.

Approximately 500 guests are expected to attend the festivities, which include The Best Tastes of Princeton, an exciting selection of foods donated by select local restaurants and a tasting of wines from around the world provided by CoolVines. Also included will be an auction of a dinner for 10 in the Anne Reeves Studio catered by Max Hansen, and an exciting “Wine Grab.” Revenue raised from Pinot to Picasso contributes to the Arts Council’s Anne Reeves Fund, which supports Community Arts initiatives and the Artist-in-Residence Program.

The highlight of the evening is the art Tombola, a lottery of approximately 90 works of art contributed by a select group of local artists. The number of Tombola tickets available will be limited to the number of pieces of art, and ticket holders will get to choose based on the order in which their number is drawn. Artwork will be previewed from 6:30-8:00 pm, at which time the Tombola drum will begin to roll. In the end, each Tombola ticket holder takes home an original work of art.

Pinot to Picasso provides its artists with great exposure to new audiences. Collectors not only have an opportunity to preview the donated works and learn about the artists by visiting the event webpage on the ACP website, but also by strolling through downtown Princeton. Participating Princeton stores and restaurants will display Pinot works for approximately two weeks prior to the event. At the event itself, the Tombola will be technologically enhanced with a wall-sized video display custom designed by SureTech.com.

The Arts Council of Princeton, housed in the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts, is a private, non-profit community arts organization with the mission of building community through the arts by providing classes, exhibitions, performances, publications, and free events designed to make visual, literary, and performing arts education and appreciation accessible to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

Tickets for Pinot to Picasso are priced at $75 for a Taster (event only) ticket and $225 for a Tombola (art draw) ticket.
