Raised in the suburbs of Boston as the first daughter of a Turkish mother and a Jewish father, Aylin's art focuses on exploring personalities, relationships, and interpretations of events while gathering inspiration from the crusty tables of flea markets, the sewing boxes of fashionable women, and the button jars of bygone days. With a BFA from Mason Gross at Rutgers University and a MA of Ed from SMFA at Tufts, Aylin splits her time teaching art classes, working part time at the Grounds for Sculpture, nurturing a small accessory business, and caring for her two young boys. Aylin and her husband, Shaun Ellis, are very happy to have made their home in Lambertville, NJ.
