Jennifer Hawkes graduated from the School at the Art Institute of Chicago with a Masters
in Art Therapy. After school she lived in San Francisco where she worked in the design and technology industries. Nights and weekends she painted and “jdhstudio" was created. Her whimsical designs and painted furniture were sold at Gump’s San Francisco and children’s boutiques across the country. In addition to art for children, Jennifer studied with several recognized California landscape artists working on location, or “plein air”. Her paintings are part of many private collections through Northern California. Jennifer returned to her hometown of Princeton, NJ, in 2007. While working at Michael Graves & Associates she has participated in several group art shows including the Spring Juried Show by Irving Sandler at the Prince Street Gallery, NY, and joined the Art Collective; connecting young collectors with emerging artists in South Salem, NY. In 2009, she continued her studies at Nelson Shank’s Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia, PA, and completed two commissioned murals at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx. Jennifer is now painting full time at her studio in Hopewell, NJ.
