My dual background in fine art and commercial art has led me to develop a style that borrows from both popular culture and subcultures. My work explores the re-contextualization of ordinary objects, where a conscious choice of materials alters the perception and function of ordinary objects. I draw inspiration from my childhood memories and notions of cultural displacement. I explore art that communicates a social critique of mass consumption by exploiting the paradox of consumerism and the power of iconography.
