Pinot to Picasso ~ Vintage 2009, the Arts Council of Princeton’s
fourth annual art and wine tasting fundraiser, will be held this year
on Friday, April 24th from 6:30-9:30 pm at 1 University Square
(Alexander Road and Route One). This gala kick-off to the
Princeton Arts Weekend
and Communiversity Festival of the Arts
has been described as “the liveliest and hippest art related event in Princeton.”

Approximately 500 guests are expected to attend the festivities, which
include The Best Tastes of Princeton, an exciting selection of foods
donated by select local restaurants including DiSh Catering, JL Ivy,
Mediterra, Ome Caterers;
small word coffee; Tre Piani and bent spoon,
and a tasting of wines from around the world provided by CoolVines.
Also included are: a wine-related Silent Auction, and a “Wine Grab.”

The event décor will be urban edgy with an interactive dance
choreographed by modern instructor/choreographer Dawn Cargiulo Berman,
formerly of Momix. Floral arrangements are courtesy of Spruce.

The highlight of the evening is the Art Tombola, a draw of approximately
80 works of art contributed by a select group of local artists. The number
of Tombola tickets available will be limited to the number of pieces of art.
Artwork will be previewed from 6:30-8:00 pm, at which time the Tombola
drum will begin to roll. In the end, each Tombola ticket holder goes
home with an original work of art.

This year’s Art Tombola will be technologically enhanced with a custom
designed wall sized video display compliments of SureTech.com.
Pinot to Picasso provides its artists with great exposure to new audiences,
as collectors not only have an opportunity to view the donated works and
learn about the artists by visiting the event website, but also can view the
artwork by strolling through town. Participating Princeton stores and
restaurants will display Pinot works for approximately two weeks prior
to the event.

(2 event and 1 Tombola ticket); $275 for a Collector ticket
(1 event and 1 Tombola ticket); and $75 for a Taster ticket
(event ticket only).

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Arts Council’s
Artist-in-Residence program housed in the Anne Reeves Studio
located in the Arts Council’s Paul Robeson Center for the Arts
in downtown Princeton. This multi-purpose studio provides working
space for artists who have demonstrated unique talent and promise.
The studio is named in honor of Anne Reeves, the visionary
founding director of the Arts Council of Princeton.
