Youth Art Month Exhibition

March 6 – 12

Closing Ceremony March 12, 6 – 8pm


All children enjoy opportunities where they can draw, create and dream. Each March, schools celebrate their creations with the observance of Youth Art Month (YAM). YAM sponsored by the Art Educators of New Jersey is celebrated by virtually every state in schools, libraries, courthouses and municipal buildings by hosting exhibits, talks and demonstrations. The primary goal of YAM is to emphasize the value of art education for all children and to encourage support for quality school art programs. Artworks created by students in grades K-12 from Mercer County will be on display at the in the Taplin Gallery. Students and their families are invited to attend the artists’ closing reception on March 12 from 6 pm to 8 pm.

March 12 – Digitized Card Workshop
Show your artistic skills to friends and family and create your personalized card featuring your artwork. Young visitors to the Mercer County YAM exhibit will have an opportunity to create artwork in line with YAM 2010’s theme - Planet Earth.

Participants will be given the required materials to complete the project. At the end of the workshop the artwork will be collected and digitized.
